Kappa Kappa Gamma was founded at Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois on October 13, 1870. Their sisterhood began 50 years before women received the right to vote and hold office and many years before the word “sorority” was coined. With their love for education and seeing women succeed, Kappa Kappa Gamma sisters began the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation. They offer both emergency grants and scholarships to help fellow Kappas when they need it most.
